5 Things Your Bridal Consultant is Thinking

March 21, 2011

1. Don’t bring to many people to your appointment
As much as you want everyone to like your dress it is almost impossible to please everyone. Don’t drive yourself nuts by bringing to many people to your appointment. Should you bring anyone? Of course. But to many people = to many opinions. People will think you look beautiful no matter what you choose.

2. Let your consultant know your budget
Be honest about what you are really comfortable spending. Your consultant wants to work with you and help you get what you want at a price you want. The more open you are about your budget the more likely you will have success in finding your dress.

3. Don’t try on a dress way out of your budget
There is a reason that dress is expensive and most likely you will fall in love with it. There are plenty of gorgeous dresses at all price points so do yourself a favor and stay in your budget.

4. Wear modest underwear
Most likely your consultant will be helping you into the dresses so be sure to wear underwear you are comfortable being in in front of a stranger. And don’t be uncomfortable, we are use to dressing girls all the time. We aren’t looking!

5. Order your dress at the size you are today
Every bride swears they are going to loose weight and therefore wants to order a smaller dress than they are measuring for. However, be sure to order the size you are today. It is better to be safe than sorry. I would say from my experience almost all my brides do loose some weight, even if they are not trying to. But not everyone looses it where they wanted to. Remember, it is much easier to take a dress in than to let a dress out.

And there you have it, 5 things your bridal consultant is thinking! Remember to have fun while shopping for your dress. It’s a wonderful experience, don’t be nervous and stick to what you feel most like yourself in.
